Despite being only 17 years old, Devlin DeFrancesco has already experienced a lot in his career.
Born in Toronto, he started his career at the age of 13 by winning the Canadian National Junior Carting Championship, which shows he has some serious ability.
Earlier this year, he drove his way to third place in the Euroformula Open Championship, managing to win the race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for Carlin Motorsport.
He has also competed in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand for the Giles Motorsport team, where he achieved seven top-10 finishes over the course of the season, ending up 10th in the overall standings.
DeFrancesco also won three races for Carlin in the 2016 F4 British Championship, as he began to make a name for himself in the sport.
And now, his fame is going to reach new heights, with the news that he will be racing at the Daytona 24 being announced.
DeFrancesco will join the JDC-Miller MotorSports team, where he will line-up alongside Simon Trummer, Robert Alon, as well as Austin Cindric.
The Canadian revealed the news on his Instagram earlier today, and will race in the team's #85 'banana boat' ORECA.
It will be the 17-year-old's first ever run in the race, and he was delighted to have been selected for the event.
"I am looking forward for a great run with JDC-Miller Motorsports in the Daytona 24," he started.
"It will be a pleasure to compete against some of the best drivers in the world and I am 100% focused to do a good job behind the wheel of the No. 85 Oreca. I want to say thank you to our partners that make it possible to join this team.
"I can’t wait for the roar and for the race weekend."
DeFrancesco will be looking to make a big impression when the event starts on January 27.
