Brighton defender Jim McNulty has joined Scunthorpe on a month's loan.

The 25-year-old left-back, who had to have a kidney removed following a horrific injury last season, has found his chances limited this term due to the form of Swansea loanee Marcos Painter.

"He wants and needs to play games to improve his match fitness," said Seagulls boss Gus Poyet. "This gives him the ideal opportunity to do that, but he will be back with us for pre-season training."

McNulty will be in the Iron squad to face fellow Championship relegation battlers Peterborough on Tuesday night.
