With the January transfer window mere days away, Liverpool fans will soon discover the fate of Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho's agents are due to meet with the Blaugrana on January 3, with the latter party looking to thrash out a deal.

It's no secret that the Brazilian is keen on a move to the Camp Nou, too, so depending on how negotiations pan out a £130 million deal could be in the offing.

But according to Jurgen Klopp, Coutinho won't be sold in January despite having just forked out £75 million to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

"No, nobody told me that [I would have to sell Coutinho]," said Klopp on Friday. "We have good players and we don't have to sell anybody because of that.

"So fair play to our owners that they are ambitious."

Just what Liverpool fans wanted to hear, yet a worrying report has emerged per Mundo Deportivo that suggests Coutinho's mind is still very much made up.

Mundo claim that Coutinho is holding Liverpool to their promise of letting him leave and is now searching for houses in Barcelona.

The 25-year-old has asked those closest to him to look out for accommodation near Luis Suarez and Paulinho, who live in Castelldefels and Esplugues de Llobregat respectively.

Paulinho, who joined Barcelona in the summer for €40 million, certainly seems to be playing a large role in convincing Coutinho to join him in Catalonia.

Earlier this week, the former Tottenham midfielder said he's been speaking to his countryman about his future and told him he wouldn't regret signing for Barca.

In fact, Paulinho has apparently been making jokes about Coutinho looking for a house in Spain, which might actually be true.

"I make jokes that people are already looking for a house for him," said Paulinho. "I try to give him the basic information - the most important for him and his family.

"Maybe the time he lived here was not enough to know the city, but he knows that Barcelona is a very good city, that offers everything for him and his family.

"You have to think about the decision you are going to make. What I think is that if you have the opportunity to come, you will not regret it."
