From start to finish both sides played with pace and aggression - it's just a shame poor finishing let them down.
It was Rangers who had the best chance of the game in the 67th minute when James Tavernier swung a dangerous cross in for Alfredo Morelos, who was completely free in the box.
The 21-year-old found the target with his header, too, but Craig Gordon somehow produced a save with his foot to give away a corner.
Almost an hour earlier, Rangers shot-stopper Wes Foderingham had denied Moussa Dembele from point-blank range with a similarly fantastic save.
The draw means Celtic have extended the gap at the top of the Scottish Premier League to nine points, with Rangers third on 40 points.
However, one individual was left very underwhelmed by what he saw at Celtic Park: former midfielder Robbie Savage.
Savage compared the game to something he would see in the Championship and tagged ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton to take the Mick (see below).
"Must say I've seen better Championship games so far that this old firm game @chris_sutton73," Savage wrote on Twitter.
But Sutton was having none of it, so he replied in the only way he knew how: by completely destroying Savage.
In the scathing response below, Sutton mocked Savage for having spent a lot of his career actually playing in the Championship.
Sutton hit back: "You played in lots of Championship games most of your career so you'd know."
Burn. Savage played in the Championship for Derby County, so he hardly has a leg to stand on when talking about quality of football.
