Ahead of Wednesday's trip to Arsenal, Chelsea couldn't afford to slip up against Stoke City, and their fast start ensured they would do no such thing.

The Blues were 2-0 up inside nine minutes thanks to Antonio Rudiger's header and a wonderful volley from Danny Drinkwater.

Further goals from Pedro, Willian and Davide Zappacosta saw Antonio Conte's men run out 5-0 winners and move ahead of Manchester United in the table, having played a game more.

With Eden Hazard rested, Pedro and Willian impressed, however Alvaro Morata had a tougher afternoon before being replaced by Michy Batshuayi in the 71st-minute.

In what was a convincing victory, there was no goal for Morata, and Chelsea fans have all been saying the same thing about their record signing after his display against Stoke.

Morata vs. Stoke

Morata moved to Stamford Bridge back in July from Real Madrid for around £60 million, and thus far, he's scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for Chelsea.

However, even after finding the back of the net in the Boxing Day win over Brighton, the 25-year-old struggled to make a meaningful impact on Saturday.

What Chelsea fans said about Morata

Many Chelsea fans on Twitter grew frustrated as Morata failed to convert clear goalscoring opportunities against Stoke, and have concluded that he isn't clinical enough.

Whilst praising his movement, Blues supporters have criticised his inability to sort his feet out in front of goal, and in fact, some have claimed that his heading qualities are his only good attribute.

Do Chelsea fans have a point?

Of course, it's only one match, but judging by the video below, it seems as though Chelsea supporters are entitled to be unhappy with Morata after his Stoke performance.

As you can see, the Spaniard raced towards goal after latching on to Willian's flick, but he couldn't beat Jack Butland in a one-on-one situation from seven or eight yards out.

Chelsea fans will hope Morata gets back to his best quickly, with the west London club facing Arsenal twice within a week, either side of an FA Cup tie with Norwich City.
