This year the WWE has had to send home Superstars early from tours more often than usual, and the trend seems to be continuing even at year's end.

The string of events first started earlier this year when Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens got into some hot water with WWE officials backstage. Owens and Zayn failed to stay in the ring for a post-match beatdown with The New Day during a SmackDown Live taping in the UK.

Originally "KO" and Zayn were supposed to get beat down by Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods before retreating backstage. Instead Zayn and Owens avoided the beatdown and went right backstage.

The two were accused of "going into business for themselves" and were sent home for the rest of the European tour. Soon after this Luke Harper was sent back home during the company's tour of  Central and South America.

After an event in Lima, Peru Harper was sent home after he got news that his wife had gone into labor with their child earlier than expected. Mojo Rawley then tagged with Erick Rowan for the rest of the tour as a result.

While it wasn't a disciplinary move, WWE still sent Harper home early from the tour to enjoy the birth of his child. Now during the WWE's holiday tour they have been forced to send another Superstar home early - but this time it's one of their key main eventers.

Braun Strowman was sent home early this past Thursday from their tour after sustaining an illness, per a report from PWInsider. Strowman had been working with Kane as they approach their Triple Threat match for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble against Brock Lesnar.

Usually WWE Superstars are able to work through illnesses, and with someone as tough as Strowman having to be sent home due to getting sick, it was have seriously been bothering him.

What are your thoughts on Strowman being sent home from the WWE's tour early due to his illness? How do you feel about the numerous times that WWE has sent home Superstars early from tours this year? Do you think that Strowman's illness is serious if he was so sick that he couldn't work anymore matches for the rest of the tour? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
