Scholes slams Pogba

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes recently criticised Paul Pogba and suggested Mourinho has been playing him out of position.

“Where is the Paul Pogba we saw at Juventus?" asked Scholes on BT Sport after Saturday's draw with Southampton. "He was all over the pitch, he was battling, he was tackling, he was sprinting to people, he was scoring goals from 25 yards out.

“He is just strolling through games.”

“No-one in England should be getting near him, but he is being asked to do a role he is not comfortable in. You have to say the manager has to take responsibility for that. Is the manager sending them out not playing the way they want to play? I don't know.”

Mourinho responds

Mourinho appeared to listen to Scholes by picking Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic alongside Pogba in the United midfield on Monday.

The 24-year-old Frenchman was given more freedom in an attacking midfield role at Goodison Park and was superb throughout.

Manchester United fans on Twitter were all saying the same thing about Pogba on Twitter.

The Red Devils did look far more balanced with Pogba playing higher up the pitch on the left side - and the club record signing was handed the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

Fans at Old Trafford will now surely expect to see Pogba playing in this position more frequently.
