Former Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg revealed his sentimental side in a video released on the German's official Youtube page.
The former Mercedes ace featured in a Vlog titled 'My Top Moments 2017'. In the video, Rosberg is seen walking on a beach where he starts naming his favourite moments of 2017.
The first moment he gives, which he clarifies is specifically from the Formula 1 world, is a touching moment that happened at the Spanish Grand Prix back in May of 2017.
A young fan dressed in Ferrari gear head to toe was left in tears after his hero Kimi Raikkonen was involved in a high-speed collision with Max Verstappen at turn 1.
The fan was visibly shaken after witnessing the crash from a fairly close distance, of his hero nonetheless.
Cameras captured the young boy's despair as he seemed genuinely worried about the Iceman's welfare and continued to ball his eyes out.
Thankfully for Kimi and the young fan, and indeed the rest of the racing world, the Finn came out of the incident unharmed. The good news for the boy, who was later revealed to be named Thomas Dane, did not end there.
The young Ferrari die-hard was invited into the paddock and got an exclusive tour of the Ferrari garage and got to hang out at the Ferrari lounge. The boy's misery had clearly disappeared as he was seen skipping down the paddock with an ear-to-ear smile.

To top it all off, the young Kimi fan met his idol, who shared a conversation with the youngster, ensuring him that he is indeed alright.
The boy left with a picture of him and his idol as well as an autographed Ferrari hat presented to him by Kimi himself. Needless to say, it was every young racing fan's dream come true.
Rosberg credited Liberty Media, the new owners of Formula 1, for capturing the moment and also the subsequent actions made by everybody to make the boy's day an unforgettable one.
He also touched on Formula 1's impact and the media's role in depicting that impact in an emotional way.
