Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen will not be joining Arsenal or Barcelona this summer after committing himself to the club.
The Danish international was recently linked with a move to Arsenal but the 18 year-old was quick to dismiss the rumours.
Eriksen was recommended to Arsene Wenger by former player Dennis Bergkamp, as the Gunners boss looks to more depth to his squad in the summer transfer window.
The Dutch side are now expected to offer Eriksen a new long term contract to deter any clubs who might be interested in signing the player.
Eriksen said, "I've also read the rumours linking me with Arsenal and Barcelona, but that is all they are: Rumors. People are free to write whatever they want, but I have not been in touch with any of these clubs,
"I'm too young to leave Ajax for a European giant yet. I just made my official debut with Ajax and I still have much to learn here. I want to become a better player here and I am happy with Ajax."
