The Buffalo Bills have done it.
After years and years of missing out on on the fun, the NFL team is headed to the playoffs. Some thought that this was an unreachable goal heading into this season and for good reason.
Why would they think that this could be achieved due to the division that they are in with The New England Patriots.
The Bills have not made the playoffs for the past 17 years but that has all changed due to one player who isn’t even on their own roster. That player is the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bills, Andy Dalton.
For those who may have missed it, Dalton was able to convert a 4th down against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, which allowed the Bills to make it to the playoffs.
Bills fans are a bit odd and came to fame this season by crashing through tables on gameday.
The fans not only want to send the Bengals some authentic Buffalo wings but also decided to donate a bunch of money to Dalton’s foundation.
Dalton went on record in a recent interview by stating that the foundation has received more than $170,000 in donations from 7,000 donors since.
And here comes the twist. Some fans even want Dalton to be put in the Bills ring of honor, of ‘Wall of Fame.’
"It's a crazy story to think that -- obviously for me, playing for the Bengals -- winning a game to help them get to the playoffs, and there's a whole different fan base donating to our foundation," Dalton told "CBS Evening News" anchor Jeff Glor.
"To have support from a completely different city and a fan base that's not even associated with us, and also a team that we did beat this year, too.
I think it's pretty crazy the support we've gotten from it. It's unbelievable and it's going a long way, and I can't say thank you enough," Dalton said.
For those who may not know, Dalton's foundation was founded in 2011 with his wife in order to provide daily support for families with children with special needs and serious illness.
