CM Punk is one of the biggest professional wrestling stars of all time, and is missing out on the prime years of his carer inside the ring after walking out on WWE several years ago.

"The Cult Of Personality" walked away from the WWE four years ago after growing frustrated with creative decisions and having part-timers such as The Rock coming in and taking the headline spot of WrestleMania. He was also reportedly mistreated by WWE's medical staff as well.

After leaving the professional wrestling world Punk then signed with the UFC and declared he would transition into the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).

He joined the famed JacksonWink training camp alongside guys like Tyron Woodley and Anthony Pettis.

Unfortunately for Punk he would lose his MMA debut to Mickey Gall in a welterweight contest via first round submission after taking some nasty ground-and-pound in the process.

While many expected Punk to return to the professional wrestling world after his failed bid, he instead stated that he intends to continue fighting.

WWE fans still long for Punk's return to the company and chants of "CM Punk" still ring out in arenas around the country. Recently, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was interviewed on The Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast.

During the interview Ross was asked how he'd try and get CM Punk back to WWE and how he'd book his return. Here's what he had to say (quotes via Wrestling Inc.):

"I would try to figure out a way if there's one more run in CM Punk. And 'one more run' to me means this: a WrestleMania, not 10, not two, not three, a WrestleMania.

"Start with let's build to the right build and the crescendo is WrestleMania. And the only other way I'd do him is have him return at WrestleMania and not be on television.

"Sign, train, vignettes, vignettes, little angle, boom. His first match is WrestleMania. Yeah, that way there's no pressure on anybody."

What are your thoughts on Ross' idea to bring CM Punk back to the WWE if he were the head of Talent Relations? Do you think that we'll ever see CM Punk back inside of a WWE ring? Or will he instead remain in the world of MMA before stepping away from the spotlight for good? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
