Arsenal were forced to settle for a draw against Chelsea on Wednesday but it could easily have been so different for the north London club.

The Gunners were in the ascendancy when Jack Wilshere broke the deadlock with a sensational second-half strike, but a controversial penalty award saw momentum return to Chelsea.

Eden Hazard made no mistake from the spot with Marcos Alonso doubling the away side's lead after some questionable finishing from Alvaro Morata.

In the end, it took a special strike from Hector Bellerin in stoppage time to rescue a point with Davide Zappacosta rattling the crossbar just seconds later.

The result leaves Arsenal a mammoth 23 points table-topping Manchester City and their hopes of returning to the Champions League declining.

It could, all in all, be a torrid month for the Gunners who also face the difficult task of holding onto Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez ahead of their contracts expiring in the summer.

While there is quiet optimism over the former, most Arsenal supporters have already come to terms with the fact Sanchez is almost certain to leave the club.

Fans have cited a drop in Sanchez's effort this season as evidence that his heart already lies elsewhere with footage and statistics backing suspicions.

Nevertheless, the Chilean's behaviour at the end of the Chelsea game may suggest his passion hasn't waned at all with a furious reaction to dropping two points.

Despite having rescued proceedings against the reigning champions and in dramatic style at that, it seems Sanchez would only settle for a win and began taking out his frustrations on the pitch.

The cameras eventually cut to Arsene Wenger going over to shake Antonio Conte's hand, but it was clear the 29-year-old was incensed. Check out the reaction below:

The clip has sparked a debate amongst Arsenal fans with some lauding his show of passion and others rolling their eyes at an 'unrealistic' hope of a second stoppage time goal.

Take a look at the arguments below:

You've got to say, it goes to show Sanchez still cares and suggestions that he has already given up on Arsenal may prove inaccurate.

His drop in form this season may have alternate causes than an abandonment of hope at the Emirates.

Besides, given Manchester City's imperious form this season, he needs to show Pep Guardiola he deserves a place in a starting XI already destroying everything before it.
