Early this morning (Thurs. January 4, 2018) in Tokyo, Japan Chris Jericho and IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega put on one of the best matches that professional wrestling has seen in some time.

The feud between the pair has been built up over the past several months and the payoff was totally worth it.

Jericho and Omega started things off with what looked like a legitimate Twitter beef between the two that lasted for several days.

It was later announced that Jericho had signed on with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) to work a program with "The Cleaner" that would come to a head at Wrestle Kingdom 12 from Tokyo, and the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title would be on the line.

Yesterday, just hours before the event, Jericho took to Instagram to post a picture of some awesome fan art that showed "Y2J" with the spirits of who he called his "fallen brothers" WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit.

He then stated that he would dedicate his match against Omega to his "fallen brothers." We all know what Chris Benoit did and how much it tainted everything about his legacy, as he remains one of the most controversial topics in professional wrestling today.

Jericho took heat from some fans for his comment, as he included Benoit in his dedication, but the former WWE Champion is sticking to his guns.

He recently took to Facebook to post a video in which he responds to the criticisms he has been receiving over the past few hours.

In particular Jericho called out professional wrestling journalist Ryan Satin, who made a sarcastic remark about Jericho's dedication on Twitter:

What are your thoughts on Jericho dedicating his NJPW match with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 to his "fallen brothers" Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero? Do you think that Jericho should have avoided making a statement like this given the controversy surrounding Benoit's final days? Or are people taking this overboard as the man is simply dedicating the match to the friend he knew and loved? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
