This week's episode of Monday Night RAW was without the services of "The Realest Guy In The Room" and WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore.

Amore was scheduled to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Cedric Alexander on RAW, however, he missed the show after being sent home by WWE officials as he had the flu. Amore pled with WWE officials to allow him to work through the illness and defend his title, but Amore's request was denied.

He was instead ordered to return to his hotel room and rest up. Amore was also subsequently pulled from the Mixed Match Challenge where he was being advertised to compete. The tournament doesn't begin until January 16th.

It was reported that Amore got sick in Toronto, Ontario, Canada this past weekend during the WWE's holiday live event tour. He had been working with Kalisto all that week but did not compete in Toronto.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that when Amore got sick in Toronto he didn't want to go to the hospital there, and instead waited until he arrived in Miami, Florida for Monday Night RAW's New Years Day episode.

He checked himself into the hospital before going to the RAW arena where WWE officials sent him to his hotel room out of fear he could be contagious. Braun Strowman had also left the WWE's holiday tour early due to an illness but was able to compete on Monday Night RAW.

Strowman was described as being "violently ill." There is currently no word on when Amore will officially be returning to the ring, however, it very well could happen this weekend as he has been medically cleared by WWE.

When he does return his title defense against Cedric Alexander is expected to take place. There's also no update on his involvement in the Mixed Match Challenge, which doesn't begin for another two weeks.
