Medical outbreak could be affecting the WWE locker room again

Over the past few weeks it seems that WWE Superstars are beginning to get sick yet again.

Initially Braun Strowman started things off when he was sent home early from the WWE's live event holiday tour due to an illness.

"The Monster Among Men" has said to be "violently ill" and took a few days off before returning on Monday Night RAW this past week to defeat Rhyno in one-on-one action.

Also joining him was WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore who reportedly fell ill with the flu while in Canada. "The Realest Guy In The Room" had been working live events with Kalisto all week but didn't compete in Toronto.

He instead waited until he flew to Miami, Florida for Monday Night RAW to go to the hospital and received an IV. He arrived to the arena for RAW just hours before showtime where he was scheduled to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Cedric Alexander.

WWE officials sent Amore back to his hotel, despite the Cruiserweight Champ's pleads to allow him to compete, and was ordered to rest up.

He is now medically cleared and could return as early as this weekend, however, he has been removed from the Mixed Match Challenge which isn't for another two weeks.

To make things even more interesting, Wrestling Inc. reports that aside from Amore and Strowman, despite that Amore is the only one inactive, several other Superstars are also suffering from illnesses backstage.

Those Superstars have been given IVs but it hasn't been confirmed if they were suffering from the flu as well. Many of those Superstars skipped going out on New Year's Eve because they were ill.

The last time a medical outbreak occurred in the WWE locker room almost an entire pay-per-view (PPV) card had to be shuffled.

Hopefully WWE can avoid a situation like that this time around as it doesn't seem to be as serious as the mumps outbreak was.

What are your thoughts on more WWE Superstars reportedly being sick backstage aside from Enzo Amore? Who else do you think could be sick from the flu? And do you think it was contracted from either Braun Strowman or Enzo Amore? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
