When Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived at Manchester United, rival fans were pretty jealous as it looked like Jose Mourinho had acquired the creative spark their midfield needed.
He came to Old Trafford on the back of an outstanding season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring over 20 goals and recording a similar amount of assists for the Bundesliga side.
However, aside from flashes of brilliance, the Armenian playmaker has been a bit of a disaster in the north of England and it appears he will be departing the Red Devils in the near future.
Mourinho clearly wants him gone in January, particularly after the fact he's barely been in any of the match day squads of late.
A possible destination for the Armenian was Inter Milan, with the Italian club exploring the possibility of a loan deal for Mkhitaryan.
However, United want to sell him outright and use the finances to invest in other areas of the squad.
Well, they are certainly not going to get their wish, with Inter's manager Luciano Spalletti dropping a bit of a bombshell about their potential business in January.
Look away, Jose.
SPALLETTI SPEAKS OUT
"You can say names - Mkhitaryan, Pastore, Verdi. But they'd cost €30million and we don't have that," the manager said.
"We need to go and play our game, show all of our quality again. We need to focus on individual quality and make it available to the team. It will be needed in a match such as this.
"The players need to know that I'm absolutely certain of their quality and I know that they have potential. Things have to be fixed on their own as they have been so far.
"In these times, we rediscover the strength of the group, the family."
So, it looks like if United are going to get rid of Mkhi this winter, they will have to explore other avenues.
A return to Dortmund is being touted, while Inter's rivals AC Milan could possibly be a potential destination.
