When Swansea loaned Renato Sanches from Bayern Munich in the summer, football fans couldn’t quite believe it.The Portuguese youngster, who won the European Golden Boy award in 2016, had previously been touted to be the next big thing. So much so that Bayern brought him for a massive £35 million from Benfica when he was just 18-years-old.He also helped Portugal win Euro 2016.So, yeah, you couldn’t blame everyone at Swansea for being very excited when he joined the club. However, things haven’t exactly gone to plan. The midfielder has struggled massively this season as he attempts to restart his career. But his Swansea career hit a new low in the FA Cup against Wolves this afternoon.Sanches started the match and was substituted after just 34 minutes. It’s being reported that he attempted a 40-yard shot which went miles over but, in the process, he injured his hamstring.

To make things even worse, he was jeered off by the Wolves fans as they sang "You're just a s*** Ruben Neves.” And that appeared to anger Sanches with many people claiming he stormed straight down the tunnel in anger.

Oh dear.

Loads of football fans were talking about Sanches’ afternoon on Twitter.

FOOTBALL FANS GOT TALKING

Check out the reaction:

Despite not having the best of time recently, new Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal has backed Sanches to bounce back from his difficult period.

“He is a boy, he is still improving, he is not a player who knows everything about football," Carvalhal said.

"He is in the process to be a better player. He did very well in Benfica and did very well in the national team of Portugal but he needs to improve things and he must learn. Also we must win and get confidence.

“I believe that I am sure he will play a better level in the future because Swansea contracted really a very good player but a boy who is still learning and not a ready player who you can put on the team and say play and do your things. Because if you do that it will be difficult to win, I am not saying that in the past to criticise. My feelings is he needs a role and confidence and I believe that he will do a very good second half of the season.”
