Liverpool fans had less than 24 hours to enjoy their victory over Everton in the FA Cup before being brought back down to earth.Kopites were buzzing after new signing Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner to send them through to the fourth round on Friday evening. But that excitement has been dampened by the news that Philippe Coutinho has completed his move to Barcelona.Of course, Liverpool supporters are getting used to losing their star men with the likes of Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling all leaving the club in recent years. But Coutinho’s departure could be the toughest yet.Jurgen Klopp’s side have their whole season still to play for as they fight for a top-four spot, are in the last-16 of the Champions League with a favourable draw against Porto and, as mentioned, through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.So to sell Coutinho midway through the campaign, without seemingly having a replacement lined up, is a very questionable decision. In fact, it’s something that Jamie Carragher couldn’t even contemplate just a few days ago.

CARRAGHER'S COUTINHO TWEET

On Wednesday, he spoke about Coutinho’s future and insisted that there was “no way” Liverpool sold him in January.

Three days later, and a deal has been agreed.

Oh dear.

FOOTBALL FANS ARE TAUNTING CARRAGHER

And it’s fair to say rival fans are rubbing Carragher’s nose in it. Check out the reaction on Twitter after it was confirmed Coutinho would be moving to Barcelona:

Poor, Carragher.

But many Liverpool fans would have been saying the same thing as Carragher just a few days ago. After all, the Reds will have had to have waited a whole 12 months to get their hands on Naby Keita after they agreed a deal for him in the summer.

Couldn’t Liverpool do the same?

Obviously not...
