You got the impression Chelsea took their FA Cup third round trip to Norwich City very seriously on Saturday, even if the result would suggest otherwise. While Antonio Conte could have deployed a number of young players from the youth ranks, he instead opted for a stacked starting XI that included the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian, Pedro and Gary Cahill. It would be inappropriate to criticise Conte for taking football's oldest cup competition so seriously, but Chelsea fans were certainly expecting some more youngsters at Carrow Road.As the game dragged on with the score goalless, though, the Italian did indeed roll the dice and introduced 18-year-old Dujon Sterling as well as Charly Musonda who is three years his senior.Ultimately, their arrival came too late to avoid a replay for the Blues yet the latter's cameo, in particular, certainly left an impression on supporters in East Anglia and those watching from home.

Norwich City performance

Musonda has become something of a fan's favourite, speaking candidly about the club's academy system in October before an admirable change of heart and reintroduction to the Chelsea fray.

Furthermore, he endeared himself to the Stamford Bridge faithful earlier in the season when he produced an incredibly emotional reaction to scoring his first Chelsea goal in a clash with Nottingham Forest.

However, having made just five first-team appearances this season, all eyes were on the Belgian and fans loved every minute of his performance.

Supporters rushed to Twitter to declare his attacking influence as greater than any of the starters, particularly compared to his compatriot Michy Batshuayi and fellow winger Pedro.

All in all, Musonda's electric performance left fans baffled that Conte didn't give him the nod from the first whistle. Take a look at the finest tweets below:

Chelsea fans react on Twitter

It's fair to say Chelsea fans were rather happy but were their comments justified? Check out his individual highlights to reach your own conclusion:

Musonda has energy, that's for sure. The 21-year-old is seen sprinting all over the pitch, dropping as far back as the defence for build-up play before trying to unlock the stubborn Norwich defence.

Fans certainly aren't oblivious to Musonda's skills and dribbling ability yet the Norwich performance demonstrated just how much he is willing to give for the badge.

Even if based on Twitter reaction alone, the Belgian caused more excitement and optimism than any of his teammates and he only need 10 minutes to do it.
