It's quite incredible that Arsenal have allowed Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to enter the final six months of their contracts.

The Gunners risk losing the pair for nothing this summer, unless of course, they choose to cash in at some point over the course of the next month.

The Chilean's next destination is no secret - according to several sources, Manchester City are set to offer £25million to reunite him with his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.

However, what will become of Ozil is a little more unclear.

The World Cup winner ought to be in considerable demand, though he has flown under the radar somewhat because of the level of interest in his team-mate, who was named Arsenal's Player of the Year for 2016/17.

The Mirror suggest that Manchester United are continuing to monitor his situation as they weigh up whether to make a bid now or whether to bide their time.

The Germany international worked under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, making him an obvious solution to the Red Devils' search for a new attacking midfielder.

Mourinho has even convinced the board to allow him to make a £35m approach in the coming weeks.

Why are United moving so fast?

That may raise a few eyebrows given that he'll be available on a Bosman so soon - but the Portuguese has very good reason for getting a deal wrapped up as soon as possible.

The newspaper claim that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also interested in the 29-year-old, yet United can now afford to beat all of them to it having offloaded Wayne Rooney's £300,000-a-week salary from the wage bill.

Ozil is thought to want similar money, though with four goals and five assists in the Premier League this season, he may have to up his game somewhat if he is to convince them he's worth it.

The Glazers have promised Mourinho around £80m to spend this month, though £50m of that could be used to tempt Tottenham into selling Danny Rose.
