So, Philippe Coutinho is the world’s second most-expensive player in the history of football. The Brazilian completed a £142 million move from Liverpool to Barcelona on Saturday, just five years after arriving at Anfield for £8.5 million.Despite receiving such a large fee, Liverpool fans aren’t happy. How are they going to replace Coutinho midway through the season?Even if they do sign top transfer target Thomas Lemar from Monaco as a replacement for Coutinho, you’d have to argue that Liverpool have been weakened by the sale of their star man.How will his departure impact their season as they seek a top-four finish, while they hope to go all the way in both the Champions League and the FA Cup?But while Kopites are devastated by the sale, some people believe Liverpool have got a very good deal. That includes Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville. He took to Twitter on Sunday morning to express his surprise at the fee compared to the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain for £200 million, while Mbappe will also join the French club next summer at the end of his season-long loan for £166 million.

GARY NEVILLE'S TWEET ON COUTINHO

And it seems Neville doesn’t rate Coutinho anywhere near those two as he tweeted his controversial view on the move.

He wrote: “I like Coutinho as a player but Neymar and Mbappe now look good value!”

Shots fired.

Not everyone will agree with Neville’s shout, though.

Liverpool fans certainly aren’t thinking they’ve got a good deal for Coutinho and believe he’s well worth the £142 Barcelona paid for him.

And many of them replied to Neville to let him know their true feelings.

MANY FANS DISAGREE

Check out the reaction:

The only way Liverpool fans will consider Coutinho’s sale as a good move is if they sign a replacement - and they start performing immediately.

We’re yet to see how Coutinho’s departure will affect the Liverpool squad this season but with Manchester City coming to town next weekend, we’ll soon find out.
