Chelsea's hectic winter schedule became even busier when they stumbled their way to a 0-0 draw at Norwich City on Saturday night, necessitating an unwanted third round replay.

Antonio Conte deployed a strong side in East Anglia with the likes of Pedro, Willian and David Luiz making their way into the starting XI and youngsters Dujon Sterling and Charly Musonda entering the fray late on.

Ultimately, though, it just wasn't to be with the Canaries earning themselves a trip to Stamford Bridge later in the month.

The dire draw sticks out as an anomalous blot on Chelsea's otherwise immaculate copy book over recent months, with the champions hot on Manchester United's tail for second place.

Nevertheless, one of the finer performers for Chelsea on the day proved Antonio Rudiger who is turning out to be a shrewd piece of business by the club.

Antonio Rudiger v Norwich City

The German has contended with the likes of Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta yet has stillaccumulated 23 appearances so far and even contributed three goals and an assist.

If nothing else, he is perfectly adapted to the Premier League with his physical presence and pace. Your average Sunday League player wouldn't want to dive into a 50:50 challenge with him, that's for sure.

So, it was certainly remarkable when Rudiger had a face-off with a hilariously brave Norwich fan who has become something of a hero on Twitter.

When the Chelsea defender tried to receive the ball from behind the advertising hoardings, it was plucked by a supporter who threw it from his grasp. What happened next was gold - take a look:

Give that man a knighthood.

Whether it was a half-time pint or the sheer desire to win Norwich the game behind the episode, you've got to appreciate that supporter's courageousness.

Twitter loved every second of it

Rudiger turned on the intimidation and it completely backfired. We're sure the fan in question will claim a victory there, even if the German's exit was to simply carry on with the game.

One thing is for sure, though, Norwich got the better of Chelsea in more ways than one on Saturday.

Only following weeks will tell whether the Championship outfit can get the better of Conte's men again but Rudiger might think twice about nearing the away end.
