The transfer season really is in full swing right now.

Virgil van Dijk, Philippe Coutinho and Ross Barkley represent three huge deals that have already been completed in January and the window has only been open for eight days.

In the coming weeks, there are sure to be some more massive deals being pushed through, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Antoine Griezmann all being linked with potential moves away.

Griezmann's future has been up in the air for some time, with the French attacker almost certain to leave Atletico Madrid in 2018.

If it wasn't for the fact that Diego Simeone's side picked up a transfer ban, the former Real Sociedad man would have joined Manchester United in the summer.

But, he stayed and signed a new deal, one which will hand him an £89m release clause come the end of the season.

Barcelona have also expressed an interest in the forward, with certain reports saying that the Blaugrana are close to pulling off another huge acquisition.

But, it seems Griezmann would still prefer a move to Old Trafford and has now issued a fresh 'come and get me plea' to Jose Mourinho's side.

GRIEZMANN HANDS OUT THE ORDERS

According to The Sun, the Frenchman has given United his one demand to reject Barca; pay him £400,000-a-week.

Yeah, that's a lot of money, we know.

Apparently, Griezmann has seen the other mega-money deals go through and wants a piece of the action.

An Old Trafford source said: “The goalposts have moved significantly since the first attempt to sign Griezmann.

“The package offered last year which was agreed is now a lot less than what he wants next summer.

“It might be too much even for us to afford. The club is desperate to sign him but it is an awful lot of money.

“His people are making different demands which the club might be reluctant to give in to.”

Is he worth that amount of money? It's hard to say. Griezmann has not had his most prolific campaign so far in 2017/18, scoring just five times in 15 La Liga appearances the season.

For a player of his reputation, that output is simply not good enough.

The wages quoted warrants a talent like Neymar, not a striker averaging a goal every three league games.
