The Alexis Sanchez saga has taken a stunning U-turn.It seemed inevitable that the Chilean forward was going to sign for Manchester City, with Arsenal deciding to cash in now instead of watching Sanchez leave on a free in the summer. But with the Gunners holding out for £35 million, Man City suddenly decided that the 29-year-old wasn’t really worth it.Not only that, but Sanchez’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, is seeking a fee of around £5m to facilitate the transfer, according to the Mirror, and Sanchez is asking for £300,000-per-week.And Pep Guardiola doesn’t feel as if the costs are really worth it, and you can understand why when you examine his roster of attacking players.Yet if Man City do pull out, then the door becomes open for their rivals, Manchester United, to come in and complete a move for Sanchez. This is reaching soap opera levels of drama.

Balague irked Neville on Twitter

Journalist Guillem Balague provided an update on the situation on Twitter, claiming that Sanchez, who prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium, must choose between Guardiola and money.

“On Alexis. City don't want to spend more than £20m. They have been told the player wants to play for Pep,” Balague wrote.

“But United will pay Arsenal/player more. Suggesting City will not bid for him is a way to put him under pressure - Pep or money, Alexis?”

Neville's response is blowing up

Man United legend Gary Neville took offence to Balague referring to the Red Devils as “money”, and his response on Twitter is blowing up.

Neville wrote: “You calling United Money Guillem? That’s twice today.. City have been wonderful this season but United did win 2 trophies last year and over the long term are a slightly bigger club 😉”.

Take that.

The conversation continued...

Balague went on to explain his original tweet.

“No. I am not talking about the clubs, Gary,” he added. “I am talking about his choice.

“He wants to play for Pep. But the offer from United will be preferred by his agents. So for him, it is Pep or money.”

But Neville wasn’t having any of it.

“Is it? Is it not City and United maybe want him and he will consider all elements in the round before making a decision? Why is it Pep or Money? Don’t get it?,” he responded.

Neville just took his reputation among Man United supporters to a whole new level.
