Although Matt Hardy has now fully embraced the Woken - or Broken, whichever you prefer - gimmick on television, it's clear that fans have been left slightly underwhelmed.

It's certainly too early to make any judgments on whether it's been an entire success or failure, but WWE fans will have definitely expected a lot more after all of the rumours, hype and waiting around for a resolution stemming from the legal battle with Anthem.

WOKEN

Now that it's been resolved, we've only really been treated to some laughing battles between Woken Matt and Bray Wyatt during their feud - but there's still that expectation there that WWE will do something special with him soon, especially in the build-up to WrestleMania 34.

Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter summed it up perfectly this week, where they claimed that this gimmick worked perfectly because of both the creative control that Matt had and the fact that it wasn't forced down fans' throats.

However, WWE might have been quietly preparing for something big in relation to Woken Matt, and it may have been quietly revealed all thanks to his wife, Reby's Snapchat.

25TH ANNIVERSARY PLANS?

She revealed that WWE's production crew were over at the Hardy compound with Matt remaining his full Woken attire in their practice ring. Reby also went on to mention that it was a 'big day' - and WWE fans have been speculating ever since.

The timing of it all is what's making it all interesting, as Monday Night RAW's 25th anniversary episode is right around the corner and it's being speculated that the full Hardy family could finally debut on that episode.

That includes Matt, Reby, King Maxel as well as Senor Benjamin - a combination which gained plenty of success in Impact Wrestling.

The night will already be full of epic returns with legends set to appear in the middle of the ring, including Stone Cold Steve Austin.

So, if WWE is hoping to go down this route eventually and have the entire family - including the compound - appear on television, then it makes complete sense to take advantage of it on this particular episode where WWE fans will be on their feet all night.

On the Road to WrestleMania, the timing of this couldn't be more perfect - if that's what the 'big day' is going to be.
