Cris Cyborg is coming off of the biggest win of her professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career, and yet another massive fight could be in the works for the Brazilian women's featherweight champion of the UFC.

Cyborg last competed in the Octagon for her first defense of her featherweight title against former UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Holm is one of the most decorated strikers in MMA history and was the first woman to ever defeat Ronda Rousey inside the UFC's Octagon back in November of 2015.

The pair main evented UFC 219 before the new year and Cyborg was able to edge out a unanimous decision win over "The Preacher's Daughter" win defend her title successfully for the first time in her UFC career.

For a while now a superfight of sorts has been discussed amongst fans between Cyborg and current UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes has tremendous knockout power and has defeated the likes of Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, and Valentina Shevchenko.

While he was backstage at UFC St. Louis last night (Sun. January 14, 2018) UFC President Dana White revealed that's a fight he wants to see and is actually working on it right now (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“That’s the fight that I want to do,” White said. “That’s the fight that I want, so we’re working on it. Amanda wants to fight her, and we’re finally in a position where we can give Cyborg big fights.

"Big fight with big-name people and – money fights.

“If there were more girls in the 145 division, I would be doing it,” White said. “You have to understand, too – at the end of the day, people want to see tough fights.

"I just gave Cyborg probably her toughest fight in MMA, and now Amanda Nunes is no joke.

“And originally you want to talk about 145-pounders, she was a 145-pound fighter. She was brought into Strikeforce to fight Cyborg.

"It’s just happening a little later than everybody had planned. And Amanda’s ready, and that’s the fight everyone wants to see.”
