Chelsea fans - those on social media, anyway - are rapidly losing patience with Tiemoue Bakayoko following a series of poor performances during the opening months of the current campaign.Big things were expected from the French midfielder, who cost the Blues a cool £40 million last summer, after his eye-catching displays for AS Monaco in Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season.Antonio Conte even decided to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, such was the confidence he had in Bakayoko to become one of Chelsea’s key midfielders.Six months after his arrival, however, and it’s fair to say that Bakayoko has flattered to deceive so far.Although the 23-year-old has chipped in with a couple of goals and assists this term, his all-round play has been hugely disappointing.Chelsea fans thought they were signing a player who would boss the midfield in big matches but we haven’t seen much evidence that he’s capable of doing that this term.

Fascinating Bakayoko analysis video emerges

One Chelsea supporter - ‘Nouman’ on YouTube - has now decided to analyse where Bakayoko is going wrong and why he’s been such a disappointment.

And his analysis video makes for very interesting viewing.

Nouman points out that there are five areas where Bakayoko has been poor this season:

1. No recovery runs

2. Holding on to the ball

3. Passing

4. Tackles

5. Finishing

Damning conclusion

The conclusion from the Chelsea fan is damning.

“Fans only support you when you show intensity and willingness to give your best on the pitch. But Bakayoko surely lacks intensity and he needs to improve almost every aspect of his game-play,” Nouman writes.

“Chelsea most of the time look like a team who are playing with 10 men because Bakayoko doesn’t help anywhere on the pitch.”

Ouch. A quite brutal assessment there, but one many Chelsea supporters will agree with.
