It’s fair to say that Antonio Conte’s decision to get rid of Diego Costa in the summer is looking a foolish one.Despite scoring 20 goals in 35 Premier League matches as Chelsea romped to the title last season, Conte sent a text message to the Spanish striker saying he was no longer needed at the club.In response, Conte splashed £75 million on Alvaro Morata with Costa moving to his former club, Atletico Madrid - despite not being able to play until January due to their transfer ban.And when Morata started banging in the goals following his big-money move to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea fans were asking: ‘Diego who?’But things have changed.Morata hasn’t scored since Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Brighton on Boxing Day, while the Blues haven’t scored at all in their previous three matches. As for Costa, despite already picking up a red card, he’s now scored two goals in three appearances for Atleti. And he produced a fantastic strike for Diego Simeone's side this evening in their Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla.Costa pounced on a loose ball and fired the ball across the goal with his left foot into the far corner.

Take a look:

Of course, considering Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal, that goal will have hurt supporters - especially when they’ve been linked with a January transfer move for Andy Carroll today.

And that was what plenty of Chelsea fans were talking about after seeing Costa’s goal - the fact that they could be about to go from Costa to Carroll in the space of six months.

In the meantime, Chelsea are being held to a 0-0 draw by Championship side Norwich at half-time meaning they’ve now gone three-and-a-half matches without a goal - more than 300 minutes.
