Leyton Orient have appointed Russell Slade as their new manager until the end of the season.

The 49-year-old former Yeovil and Brighton boss watched the O's 2-1 defeat at Southampton today and will take charge of his first game at Exeter this weekend.

Orient are currently fifth bottom of Coca-Cola League One, with goal difference keeping them out of the bottom four following a run of one win in 12 games.

Geraint Williams was dismissed as manager following Saturday's 3-1 loss to fellow strugglers Hartlepool.
