Alberto Del Rio wants to be back in WWE.

He now goes by the name Alberto El Patron and is current in Impact Wrestling.

Del Rio is a former multiple time World Champion and has had great feuds against the likes of John Cena, Edge, Christian, and many more. He has had a few different runs with the company, however, his first came to an end back in August of 2014.

If you recall, the reason for his departure then due to a WWE employee allegedly made some racist remarks towards Del Rio backstage, and "Mexico's Greatest Export" responded by striking that employee with a slap. There as a huge deal made about the entire incident backstage.

Del Rio made a surprise return to the WWE at Hell in a Cell on October 25, 2015. However, it didn’t last. On September 9, 2016, WWE officially announced that they had come to terms with his release from the sports entertainment company.

Some wrestling fans might not know, but in May 2016, Paige and fellow wrestler José Rodríguez, better known as Alberto Del Rio, went public with their relationship. The two became engaged in October 2016, but split in late 2017.

During this time, Del Rio was very outspoken about his time with the WWE and its COO Triple H. He ripped “The Game” several times but now he wants to make up with the sports entertainment company.

Del Rio recently spoke with Medio Tiempo and during the interview, he commented on a possible return to the WWE. Here is what he had to say (courtesy of SportsKeeda.com for the quotes):

"I apologized to Triple H for the issues we were in when I was with the relationship with my ex-partner. She and her entire family made me believe that those who affected our relationship were them, specifically him.

Of course, I would go back (to WWE), I would not go back fulltime, but I would make a special appearance before I put on my wrestling boots and it will surely happen, surely before I retire I will do something special with them.

I see a very difficult 2018, but in 2019 before leaving I'm definitely going to do something with them, we shook hands and everything is fine right now. Time heals wounds."
