The 2018 NBA All-Star game captains and starters were revealed on Thursday, with five players from both the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference being selected for the game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next month.Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry received the most votes in the Western Conference, while Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James received the most votes in the Eastern Conference. These two will be our team captains for the All-Star game on February 18.From the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid, Boston Celtics' Kyrie Irving, and Toronto Raptors' DeMar DeRozan were also selected as starters. In the Western Conference, Houston Rockets' James Harden, Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant, and New Orleans Pelicans teammates Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins were also selected as starters.Curry and James will pick their teams from the pool of starters and reserves. Reserves will be selected by NBA head coaches and announced next Tuesday, and the full team rosters will be announced January 25.However, one player who won't be a starter this year is Draymond Green. The power forward did not receive enough votes this year to be given a starting spot in the All-Star game in Los Angeles. Reports have stated that this is because of his relationship with other players and the media.According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Green was voted second by fans in All-Star voting, but was bumped out of a starting spot because of media and fans not voting for him as much as they did for other players.

In the voting of frontcourt players from the Western Conference, Green finished second in the fan votes, seventh in the players vote, and eighth in the media vote. His overall score was 0.5 less than Cousins of the Pelicans.

Considering Green is one of the NBA's biggest trash-talkers, it comes as no surprise that he isn't popular amongst his peers in the league, but this isn't going to bother him too much when you take into account he has two championships to his name.
