What Aubameyang was up to during Hertha 1-1 BVB

While his teammates were battling to a 1-1 draw at Hertha, Aubameyang was snapped playing indoor football elsewhere.

He even wore a Dortmund shirt with ‘Dembele 7’ on the back, a nod to former teammate Ousmane Dembele.

Aubameyang responds to critical journalist

One journalist, Michael Makus, who works for BILD, expressed his disappointment with Aubameyang's recent behaviour on Twitter.

Markus believes that Dortmund shouldn’t sell Aubameyang and should instead make him train with the club’s reserves until 2021 for his recent behaviour.

Aubameyang spotted the tweet and responded, saying: “Bla bla bla next step is the jail 😆😂🤙🏽you don’t know nothing so take care of you!!! not me”.

The Gabon international was spotted wearing a Dortmund shirt as he played indoor football with friends during Dortmund’s 1-1 draw against Hertha on Friday.

Markus responded by saying: You forgot to wear your Arsenal jersey tonight,” something that didn’t go down well with Aubameyang.

“😆😂you are a good joker 🃏like your Twitter certification good Night,” he said in response.

Is Aubameyang worth the risk?

Aubameyang’s future appears to be entirely in his hands.

Arsenal are interested and Dortmund seem willing to sell, despite Aubameyang enjoying yet another fine season in Germany.

He’s scored 21 goals in 24 appearances this campaign but sometimes the harmony of the squad is more important than any individual player.

Petit: Arsenal should aim higher

While the general consensus among Arsenal supporters is that Aubameyang is the perfect signing to revive their top four challenge, one former player believes they should be aiming higher.

Emmanuel Petit, who won the Premier League and FA Cup with Arsenal in 1998, wants Arsene Wenger to target bigger names.

“There has been a lot of speculation about the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Malcom coming in – but Arsenal should be aiming higher,” Petit told the Metro.

If Aubameyang isn’t big enough, one wonders what Petit makes of Arsenal signing 20-year-old centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos.
