WWE fans will have differing opinions when it comes to Roman Reigns’ latest run as Intercontinental Champion while Brock Lesnar and the WWE Universal Championship have been absent from WWE television until recently.

Despite being embroiled in a huge steroid story and ultimately distancing himself from the situation, it doesn’t seem like WWE’s plans for him are going to be changing anytime soon.

WRESTLEMANIA 34

For quite a while now, it’s been well-documented that The Big Dog is going to have some epic WrestleMania 34 plans in store in a few months in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Despite conflicting reports throughout the past year, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is claiming that the plan is still for The Beast Incarnate to defend the Universal title against Reigns in the main event.

Not only that, but Reigns is also expected to dethrone Lesnar to put his lengthy reign to an end one year after he defeated Goldberg for the same championship, meaning CM Punk’s 434 day reign as WWE Champion will remain the longest of the modern era.

With WrestleMania rapidly approaching, the decision now has to be made on what the company is going to do with the Intercontinental Championship as it’s obvious that the gold needs to be moved on relatively soon if he’s to enter the Universal Championship picture, with or without another Royal Rumble victory under his belt.

REIGN ENDING

The same source is claiming that Reigns’ Intercontinental title run is coming to an end soon and it’s none other than The Miz who is expected to once again become the champion and do another fantastic job as the champion.

To matters more interesting, WWE could pull the trigger on the huge title change as early as Monday night where WWE hosts the 25th anniversary special of RAW.

There are so many legends coming back and the show is expected to be bigger than the RAW after WrestleMania in terms of production. With many twists and turns expected to take place, Reigns dropping the gold to The Miz could be one of the many ‘surprises’ we witness on the night especially The A-Lister has unfinished business against Reigns.

If that is the case, then it won’t be a major surprise to hear WWE fans claim that this was a pointless title run for Reigns as it hasn’t really achieved anything, other than playing hot potato with the gold with The Miz.
