It has not been a great January for the Cleveland Cavaliers and this was only exemplified on Saturday when the team played against the Oklahoma City Thunder and lost in tremendous fashion once more.

The Cavaliers were unable to stop Paul George, Russell Westbrook or Carmelo Anthony, as the trio all had monster games, scoring 36, 23, and 29 points respectively. Cleveland ended up losing 148-124 to the Thunder at the Quicken Loans Arena.

While the team still finds themselves in third spot in the Eastern Conference, they're 6.5 games behind the leaders in the Boston Celtics, and they've only managed to win three games since Christmas, losing the other nine.

They're four games behind the Toronto Raptors in second, and half a game ahead of the Miami Heat in fourth. Fans may still have confidence in the Cavaliers considering they've been to each of the past three NBA Finals, but this is not a good situation for the team to be in.

Speaking after their loss to the Thunder, LeBron James reflected on the teams' chances in the playoffs and how well he thinks they would do in a scenario where the season ended today.

James said, according to cleveland.com: “Playoffs? We can’t even start thinking about that, not the way we’re playing right now. We could easily get bounced early in the playoffs if they started next weekend. Haven’t even began thinking about the postseason.”

Not to take any credit away from Oklahoma City though for their performance against Cleveland, James reflected on how well their opponents played as well by stating the fact he's never been on a team that's conceded 148 points before. Not even while playing a video game.

He said to ESPN: "I've never in my basketball life gave up 148 points, not even probably playing video games. They got everything that they wanted. Inside, outside -- they had it moving. ... It's just a really bad, really bad loss on our part."

James and Cleveland will be looking to get their season back on track in the Eastern Conference when they play against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.
