Football News

Alexis Sanchez is a Manchester United player and everyone associated with the club is absolutely buzzing right now.

Despite the crazy amount of wages they’re throwing at the Chilean, there's no doubt they’re signing a world-class player.

It won’t win them the Premier League this season with Manchester City in cruise control but it will definitely make them stronger in the years to come.

You only need to see Jose Mourinho’s comments after Sanchez’s arrival to see how excited he is after the swap-deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan was confirmed.

“Alexis is one of the best attacking players in the world and he will complete our very young and talented group of attacking players," Mourinho said.

"He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige."

But it seems it’s not just the fans and the manager that is really excited.

That’s because some of the players are also pretty keen to play alongside Alexis Sanchez.

One man that is definitely delighted is Jesse Lingard.

After the Alexis deal was announced, he took to Twitter to write a little message to his new teammate.

Take a look:

While United fans absolutely loved Lingard’s post, fans of other clubs hated it.

Just check out some of the abuse the midfielder was receiving from rivals fans - with many pointing out that it could be Lingard getting benched after Alexis' arrival.

You can’t blame Arsenal supporters for being furious, to be fair.

After all, it was at the Emirates that Lingard ‘Milly rocked’ after scoring a brace during their 3-1 victory last month.

Arsenal v Manchester United - Premier League

We can’t really imagine Sanchez joining Lingard and Paul Pogba with the ridiculous handshakes and celebrations though...
