Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy will be able to call on Simon Hackney for their home game with Rotherham after the club extended his loan deal from Colchester for another month.

Winger Hackney has been a major player in Morecambe's bid for a top-seven place and the club has provision for the deal to cover the play-off fixtures if needed.

McIlroy also has Andy Parrish available for selection after the defender served his one-match ban by sitting out Monday's 3-1 win at Lincoln.

However, fellow defender Will Haining is still out with a groin problem so David Artell will be again expected to take his place.

The game against the fourth-placed Millers represents a good chance for Morecambe to secure a vital win to close the gap between them and their fellow play-off hopefuls.

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore could hand recalls to Drewe Broughton and Tom Pope.

The striking duo, who were watched by Moore in a midweek reserve game, are pressuring loan signing Craig McAllister for a place in the starting XI.

Moore may also make changes in defence after slamming his side`s defending in their 3-0 defeat at Aldershot on Monday.

Gary Roberts definitely will not play after his contract at the Don Valley Stadium was terminated on Thursday, while Dale Tonge again looks set to miss out with a foot injury.

The Millers have lost their last three games to Notts County, Port Vale and the Shots and will be desperate for a win to reignite their fading automatic promotion hopes.
