Northampton will be without talismanic striker Adebayo Akinfenwa for the visit of in-form Notts County.
Akinfenwa picked up an ankle injury in the goalless draw with Torquay on Easter Monday and is set to be out for the next fortnight so Steve Guinan will start in attack.
Winger Liam Davis suffered a dead leg against Torquay and is a doubt but former Coventry midfielder Kevin Thornton is back in training after a knee injury so will come into contention.
Thornton may be rushed back into service on the left as fellow wide man Andy Holt remains sidelined with his own knee injury.
Striker Stephen O'Flynn has pulled his groin in training to join the casualty list while goalkeeper Chris Dunn is also still nursing a knee injury.
John Thompson is available again for Notts County.
The influential defender missed the games against Bury and Shrewsbury through suspension.
The Magpies kept two clean sheets over the Easter period in his absence so it remains to be seen whether boss Steve Cotterill will make changes to his back-line.
Should Thompson go straight back into the side, Jamie Clapham would be the man most likely to make way having deputised in his absence.
Midfielder Matt Hamshaw will hope to force his way back into the starting line-up while strikers Ade Akinbiyi, Delroy Facey and Karl Hawley will again try to stake a claim for a recall.
County are closing in on a long-standing club record for clean sheets. They have not conceded in 21 of their 38 league games this season, which is just two short of the record of 23 clean sheets kept during the 1922/23 campaign.
