It seems an age ago that Philippe Coutinho virtually broke the January transfer window when he completed a £142m move to Barcelona. The Brazilian playmaker left Liverpool fans heartbroken halfway through a season where he was playing his best ever football for the club, scoring seven goals and recording six assists in just 14 Premier League games. He's still yet to make his official debut for the Blaugrana due to a thigh injury, but he's hopeful of making the match day squad for Thursday's Copa Del Rey tie against Espanyol. But, the big question in aftermath of the move has been, how will Liverpool replace him?Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he may not look for a replacement this month, particularly with the likes of Monaco's Thomas Lemar being priced at a hefty €90m.Clearly, they want value for money and it appears they may have found the ideal man for to fit that profile, plus he's a fellow Brazilian.According to respected journalist Duncan Castle, writing for Yahoo Sports, Gremio starlet Luan Vieira is firmly on Liverpool's radar, with the club 'opening talks' with the highly-rated attacker. You may have heard the name mentioned around rumour mills and that is because Luan is viewed as one of Brazil's finest prospects - quite the accolade. He helped guide Gremio to the Copa Libertadores and the 24-year-old has notched 26 goals in just 106 games, not bad for a player who isn't deployed as an out-and-out centre-forward.What's even better? His release clause is €18m, bargain.

Brazil legend Tostao had this to say about him after his stunning performances for Gremio: "Luan is among the top five Brazilian players today."

However, it appears there is some confusion about the reports linking Luan with Anfield, as Liverpool-based journalist Carl Markham tweeted what he knew about the situation.

So, who to believe? In this crazy January market, it really is hard to pick a side.

Nevertheless, despite the confusion, Luan would be an astute purchase, particularly after South American stars like Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Roberto Firmino have thrived at Anfield.
