Rafael Nadal, who rocked his sleeveless outfit regularly about a decade ago, has pulled out this iconic look again for the Australian Open.

However, world number two and Rafa's closest competitor Roger Federer has shut down any possibility of him copying the look.

In a recent interview, when asked about whether Federer would change from his standard sleeves that he has worn since the start of his career, Federer laughed, but declined.

"That’s not going to happen," he laughed. "You know why – it’s pretty simple.

"My arms are not as big as his are.

"I do love his look, though, this is the Rafa I knew when he was growing up."

The Spaniard, with 16 Grand Slam titles to his name, used to wear three-quarter length trousers that would accompany the tank top, and Federer was hoping that the full look would make a return to this year's Australian Open.

"I remember Nike gave me those Capri pants to try before he actually wore them," he added.

"I remember I put them on at my home tournament in Basel, I came out and all the players were like “what are these things”. And I was just like, “I’m just testing them, I’m never playing in them”.

"I would also love him to rock the Capri pants again but he says not anymore so unfortunately not."

Federer has looked like his normal outstanding best this Australian Open and hasn't dropped a set since the tournament started as he looks to add to his record 19 Grand Slam titles.

The Swiss superstar meets underdog Chung Hyeon in the semi-final, who knocked out Novak Djokovic in the round of 16.

Despite looking on top form for most of the tournament, Rafael Nadal retired against Marin Cilic as he trailed the Croat in the quarter-finals.

With a disappointing tournament for Nadal, we wonder whether we will ever see the iconic sleeveless shirt worn by the Spaniard again.
