The Portland Trail Blazers aren't exactly one of the most dominating teams in the NBA's Western Conference, but they have the talent in their squad to challenge the better teams in the entire league.
On Wednesday night at the Moda Center in Portland, the Trail Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 123-114. It was a vital victory as it pushes them away from the Los Angeles Clippers who sit in 9th and are 2.5 games behind Portland in 7th.
Damian Lillard was the top performer on the court for the Trail Blazers, as the point guard scored 31 points with four rebounds, six assists, and six 3-pointers. C.J. McCollum had a good night as well, as he scored 28 points with three rebounds, five assists, and four 3-pointers in 35 minutes.
It was the shooting guard that created one of the highlights of the game against the Timberwolves, as he performed a fantastic alley-oop with Pat Connaughton, which might actually be one of the best alley-oops you'll see all season.
As you can see in the video below, the ball was picked up by Portland after a Minnesota attack and McCollum broke away. He took the ball halfway through the Timberwolves half of the court before throwing up in the air towards the basket.
Waiting near the basket was Connaughton, and as the ball approached, he jumped up in the air and made the reverse slam dunk to complete the alley-oop. That wasn't the only play Connaughton made on the night though.
The six-foot-five star also had a reverse right-hand slam and another alley-oop, this time around though, Lillard was the provider. Connaughton finished after coming off the bench with 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists by the end of the night.
The Trail Blazers will be on the court next on Friday night when they visit Dallas to play against the Mavericks.
