Deontay Wilder has warned Anthony Joshua against insisting any fight between the pair must be held in the UK.

The highly anticipated clash could potentially be a big one as both men will have the opportunity to unify the heavyweight division at elite level.

Before any official negotiations can take place, both competitors first have to navigate past other opponents.

Joshua faces Joseph Parker on March 31 in Cardiff in a world title unification fight while Wilder is set to take on Luis Ortiz just a few weeks earlier in a defence of his own WBC crown.

Any future fight between Joshua and Wilder will not take place before the summer but the undefeated American took the opportunity to spark further speculation regarding the fight.

"He's talking about the percentages in England and stuff like that. Bro, 70,000 people may look good in a small country, but you are not getting the money like you are over here just compared to 20,000,' Wilder said, as per the Daily Mail.

"You make your money here in America. The mega boxing is here in America, it always will be no matter what they are doing over there."

While Wilder's statement is not entirely false, the boxing scene in Britain is certainly on the rise.

Although, the man from Alabama has predicted a knock out win over his British rival following similar wins in 38 of his 39 prior matches.

"Once I knock him (Joshua) out, all of that over there is going to go down and it will be no more," Wilder added.

"So hey, choose your battles wisely, choose your places wisely. Where ever he feels like it is going to be comfortable for him, if he has the courage to beat me then so be it, I'll be there, I'll be waiting."

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has often thrown around the idea of Joshua entering the American boxing scene but he might regret his actions if this turns out to be false promises.

Both of course, Joshua and Wilder have to focus on their respective upcoming matches first.

The 32-year-old American took to Instagram to remind his fans of the clash.

"Deontay Wilder here, heavyweight champion of the world. March the third as you know, or if you don't know Match the third will be me vs Luis Ortiz at the Barclay centre on Showtime," he said.

"Be there, you don't want to miss it, it's going to be a lovely evening, we got a lot of great fighters on the card, it's going to be an explosive fight.

"I'm just so excited to be here at this event with all these fighters, among some of the best in the world with multiple champions and titles and we just living life right now.

"We excited and we can't wait to bring you more fights this year, this is going to be a mad year and I can't wait to deliver the knockouts that I always do 39 and 0 with 38 KOs looking for 40 and 0 with 39 KOs.

"Here we go baby, I can't wait, Bombsquad. I'll see all you guys soon."
