There was no shortage of controversy when Alexis Sanchez put pen to paper on a move to Manchester United this week.
Arsenal fans were given a painful of deja vu with their star man following in the footsteps of Robin van Persie who swapped the Emirates Stadium for Old Trafford in 2013. The deal brought an end to a saga that had spanned months and weighed heavily on the Arsenal squad.
When the deal was confirmed, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved in the opposite direction, there was a mood of acceptance in the inevitability of it all.
After all, the writing had been on the wall for sometime.
Gooners had good reason to suggest that Sanchez had taken his foot off the gas since the summer, when a move to Manchester City only fell through upon a failed Arsenal approach for Thomas Lemar.
Drop in performance for Arsenal
On the back of a stunning campaign in north London, Sanchez's performance dropped with figures of nine goals and three assists indicating stagnation.
It looked to have been picked up by the Arsenal players themselves, too, who failed to celebrate some of Sanchez's final goals for the club.
Furthermore, when the 29-year-old confirmed his high-profile move, there was a distinct lack of teammates wishing him well at his new club.
Three days on, though, and it seems the silence has ended in subtly savage fashion.
After Arsenal's impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, Mohamed Elneny took to Twitter to both enjoy the victory and almost certainly take aim at his ex-temmate.

Arsenal fans are utterly convinced and given the questions over Sanchez's commitment, it's hard to argue with their suspicions. Check out the pick of the reaction:
It wouldn't be the first time that Elneny has teased Sanchez, either.
The Egyptian midfielder called out Sanchez in December with a cheeky comment over Chile's absence from this year's World Cup.
This time around, though, he went that extra bit further and Arsenal fans adore him for it.
