The Sacramento Kings secured a dramatic late win over the Miami Heat in an ugly affair on Thursday night. The Kings had De'Aaron Fox to thank after he produced a stunning game-winning play to hand his team an 89-88 win. With Sacramento down by one in the closing seconds, the ball was put in the hands of rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic to win the game but he saw his jump shot rim out.But with the ball bouncing out, fellow rookie Fox anticipated it better than anybody and flew in to throw down an incredible two-handed putback dunk with just 3.3 seconds remaining on the clock. The dunk proved to be the winning play by Fox as Josh Richardson missed a final attempt for Miami. It was a remarkable clutch play from the young point guard and it's some way to win a ball game."I just went to crash the glass and I just showed my athleticism," Fox said, per ESPN.The Heat players forgot to box out and allowed him to soar in for an uncontested slam that they'll now have to watch over and over again. It'll be hard to find a game-winning basket better than this one all year."We didn't get a blockout and we didn't jump," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "That probably summed up the evening as much as anything. One guy went for it and the rest of us spectated. That's not how you win NBA games."It was Sacramento's first win at Miami since 2001, and they closed the game with a 17-4 run in the final six minutes.Fox enjoyed a solid all-around game as he posted 14 points on 6-of-15 shooting, three rebounds, and four assists and he played a big role in his team's comeback in the fourth quarter.

His numbers weren't particularly overwhelming but he produced several big plays down the stretch on both ends of the floor to help the Kings erase a 12-point deficit in the final seven minutes of the contest.

With head coach Dave Joerger deciding to give his younger players more minutes at the expense of his veterans, the 20-year-old will have more of an opportunity to showcase his talent and have a bigger role on the team.

With George Hill rumoured to be close to a trade away, Fox has already taken most of his minutes on the court and he's ready to take on the task of being the franchise's point guard of the future.

With his speed and athleticism, we can surely expect to see the Kentucky product seize his chance and produce more eye-catching plays for the remainder of the season.
