Coventry dealt defender injury blow

Football News

Coventry have been dealt a blow with the news that influential defender James McPake will not play again this season.

The centre-back missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United having been substituted late on in the 3-0 reverse at Reading on Easter Monday following a stern tackle that left him with both groin and knee complaints.

Manager Chris Coleman has said: "I don't think he needs an operation, I hope not, but, like Jon Stead and Gary Deegan, we won't be seeing him for the rest of the season."
