John Wall has previously claimed to be the best two-way point guard in the NBA and it's often hard to disagree with him on that.Wall is a five-time All-Star and has been selected to both the All-NBA team and All-Defensive team in recent seasons. With many players at this position focusing largely on scoring, there aren't many who play on both ends of the floor at an elite level but Wall manages to do that consistently for the Washington Wizards.Despite being at the one spot, the former Kentucky product is one of the best shot-blocking guards in the league. He also wasn't shy about making a bold statement about that too as earlier in the season he said: "I think I’m the best shot-blocking point guard in NBA history. I’m trying to set records.”The Wizards star put this on display in stunning fashion against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. In the opening minutes of the game, Paul George received a quick outlet pass from Carmelo Anthony in transition and was heading to the basket for an easy fastbreak layup. But Wall tracked him all the way and channeled his inner LeBron James to produce an incredible chase down block to deny the Thunder man and pin his effort on the glass.

It was perfect timing and another to add to his growing collection.

Wall is averaging a career-high 1.14 blocks per game which is the most of any guard in the league this year.

Coupled with 1.3 steals a night, it makes him one of the most feared defenders in the NBA.

But unfortunately for the 27-year-old, he was unable to lead his team to a victory as they were beaten 122-112 by the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in this particular contest.

He produced a double-double of 21 points and 12 assists on 7-of-16 shooting and 5-of-10 from three-point range.

The loss was Washington's fourth in the last five games and it sees them drop to 26-22 in the Eastern Conference.

Wall and Bradley Beal are having good seasons and have been selected to the All-Star game in Los Angeles next month but as a team, the Wizards have often flattered to deceive and aren't living up expectations.

They were expected to challenge the top teams in the east and take another significant step forward this year but that hasn't been the case.

There's still a long way to go in the campaign but the men from the nation's capital will have to find a consistency in the second half of the season to stand a chance of making a deep playoff push.
