Hartlepool will be without Gary Liddle for the visit of relegated Stockport.
The defender played in the 2-0 win over Brighton on Easter Monday when he should have been serving a two-match ban for collecting his 10th yellow card in the previous game at Leyton Orient.
The club have since been charged by the FA for fielding an ineligible player and Liddle, who has also been charged, remains suspended.
Hartlepool claimed a crucial 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Wycombe at the weekend and director of sport Chris Turner must decide whether or not to keep faith with the same side.
Denis Behan (ankle) is closing in on a return to training but Tuesday's game will come too soon for the striker.
Stockport boss Gary Ablett has been handed a double boost.
Defender Paul Huntington and striker Paul Donnelly are both expected to return.
Huntington missed last Saturday`s match with a calf injury whilst Donnelly sustained a thigh injury in the weekend defeat to Yeovil.
However, midfielder Greg Tansey has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing a thigh muscle.
Tansey was introduced as a substitute against Yeovil but barely played a minute before he had to be stretchered off the field.
