Paris Saint-Germain continued to run away with Ligue 1 on Saturday afternoon thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Montpellier.

Edinson Cavani opened the scoring to become the club's all-time top scorer and Neymar doubled the advantage with a penalty five minutes from the interval.

The in-form Angel di Maria got on the scoresheet once more before Neymar wrapped things up with another goal late on in what has been a simply sensational season for him.

Since leaving Barcelona in a world-record £198 million move last summer, the 25-year-old has registered 26 goals and 16 assists in just 24 matches for PSG.

Neymar starred for Paris yet again against Montpellier, and he produced two outstanding moments which perfectly summed up just how easy he's currently finding things in France.

Neymar's perfect pass to Draxler

Shortly after Cavani's record-breaking goal, Neymar turned with the ball near the half-way line before playing a magnificent long-range pass to Julian Draxler.

As you can see below, the Brazilian's through ball put his teammate in on goal, ensuring he didn't have to break stride either, but the German midfielder was unable to beat Benjamin Lecomte.

If that wasn't enough, Neymar decided to have some fun towards the end of the game by what can only be described as embarrassing a tiring Montpellier team.

Neymar toys with Montpellier late on

The ex-Barca forward simply toyed with one opposition player who tried to close him down, producing fancy footwork without even touching the ball.

Then, as the defender was finally drawn in, Neymar had the wherewithal to pop the ball back to Layvin Kurzawa and win his side a free-kick.

It was yet another showcase of just how well Neymar has adapted to life in the French capital as he emerges as an early contender for the 2018 Ballon d'Or award.

Of course, it's only January, and while Lionel Messi has shone this campaign, Neymar has been just as influential for his new club - and there could be more to come.

Paris will entertain reigning European champions Real Madrid in Champions League Round of 16, while Neymar is set to star for Brazil at the World Cup in Russia.
