Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday night after losing a VAR-dominated fourth-round tie 3-2 at home to struggling West Brom.

Roberto Firmino's lovely chip put the hosts ahead inside five minutes, but the impressive Jay Rodriguez's two quickfire goals changed the complexion of the match in an instant.

Joel Matip's own goal in first half stoppage time made things worse for Liverpool, and even with Mohamed Salah's 78th-minute strike, Jurgen Klopp's men suffered a disappointing defeat.

Despite spending £75 million on Virgil van Dijk in the current transfer window, the Reds still have several defensive issues, while Philippe Coutinho's departure has left them short of creativity.

Liverpool supporters weren't shy in venting their frustrations after the loss to West Brom, and it seems they are more than happy for one important player to leave the club in January.

The player Liverpool fans are happy for club to sell

Merseysiders on social media were angry with the likes of Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno and Georginio Wijnaldum, but the player they seemingly want gone is Emre Can.

The German was given the captain's armband against West Brom but produced a very underwhelming display as rumours about his future continue.

Can's contract expires this summer and the midfielder, who has made over 150 appearances for Liverpool, is being heavily linked with Italian champions Juventus.

What Liverpool fans said on Twitter

In addition to blasting him for inconsistency, Reds fans have claimed that they're happy for Juve to sign him before the transfer window closes in a few days time after his "abysmal" showing.

Could Liverpool cope without Can?

Despite his dips in form, the 24-year-old remains a key player for Liverpool, given that he is the only proper defensive midfield player they have in their squad at the moment.

Naby Keita will join in the summer, but he's more of a box-to-box player, while captain Jordan Henderson isn't a natural in the holding role and James Milner has turned into a utility man.
