WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder produced another bold and self-confident statement last week."The Bronze Bomber" was asked at the Showtime Boxing 'Up Front' gathering what would happen if he fought the 1986 version of Mike Tyson. And Wilder had little doubt in his mind."I just got to keep it real, and I always keep it real," Wilder started."I know people always go back to the old school - new school, but there is no old school or new school fighter that could beat Deontay Wilder! I'd knock him out!"Wilder believing he could beat anybody is nothing new, but knocking out legends in their prime is a whole new level for his confidence.Social media judged on his view, with fans sharing their humble opinions, see some of them below.

It's fair to say Wilder didn't win a lot of new fans with that statement, and going against his own country's boxing legend probably lost him some of his home support as well.

Although most fans did not agree with Wilder, there was one who shared his belief.

"Tyson was an undersized heavyweight who lost to all the great fighters he ever fought.

"He couldn't deal with Wilder's power and technique. Wilder in 4!"

Who is right or wrong, we shall never know, but for Wilder, beating Luiz Ortiz on March 3 would be good enough for now.
