Arsenal fans will be struggling to keep up with all the happenings at the Emirates Stadium on what is turning into a manic transfer deadline day at the North London club.

Having finally completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund front man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, The Gunners also revealed that talismanic midfielder Mesut Ozil had signed a new three year deal with the club after months of speculation linking him with a move north to meet up with Alexis Sanchez at Manchester United.

With Olivier Giroud set to move to Chelsea now that the Aubameyang deal has been finalised it really is proving to be quite a busy day behind the scenes at the Emirates.

However, if sources in Germany are to be believed, things might just be about to get even busier with reports in Bild suggesting that Wenger is plotting a stunning last-minute move for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and with Leon Goretzka having already signed for Bayern Munich, the German side are desperate for Meyer to sign a new contract. The deal is yet to be signed however and Arsenal seem keen to play on the fear that Meyer could leave on the cheap in the summer.

Meyer has been the subject of interest from the Premier League for a few years now and has been linked to Liverpool in the past. It seems though that it is difficult to close the purse string at the Emirates once they have been opened and, despite lumping out a club record fee for Aubameyang, it seems that Wenger is eyeing another raid on the Bundesliga.

The Bundesliga side will be desperate to hang on to the young midfielder but may well be open to cashing in on Meyer while they have the chance.

It really will be the cherry on top of a very large cake if Arsenal can get a deal for Meyer over the line before the deadline passes but it will take an almighty effort to force it through in time.
